I have heard from Mr. Twitchell in Harpswell and my friend Charlie in Whitefield. Mr. Twitchell sent me his picture and HM it on the refrigerator with all the other pictures.

The hot weather has my asthma acting up again. I tried really hard not to let HM see or hear me, but it didn't do any good. Today, as I write this column, I am a little sore. I had to go to the vet and I got poked and prodded and then had a huge needle stuck in to me. HM said I was the best of all the cats ever at the vets. I got extra shrimp tonight. I am a little sore, but am feeling better, too. I will have to take pills later on.

You should have seen what was in our house last week. My human brother came for a visit and brought my canine whatever, Brody. He is a huge dog. He was very gentle, though, and really only wanted to play with us. But, as cats who know nothing about dogs, we were not ready to become friends with him. Noel stood right up to him, but Shannon headed for the basement and I hid under the bed.

Last week in our yard we had two ducks. I have never seen a duck before. HM said they were male and female Mallards. She wasn't sure why they were there, but they were under the bird feeders eating seeds. Last month it was the turkeys out there. HM said it is because we are pushing all the wild animals and birds out of their habitats, whatever and wherever they are.

We have lots of squirrels and birds right now. I love sitting in the window and watching. The squirrels look like they are having so much fun. They run around the back yard, up and down trees, and get really upset when the crows and bluejays come around.

I have been outside several times. I usually just curl up on the swing with HM and enjoy the nice fresh air. I don't like the leash, but HM insists on putting it on me. Sometimes HA comes over with canine cousin Sammy. He really bugs me, but I stand my ground with him. He is always on a leash, too.

Well, HM said she has to go to bed, so I will finish my column for this month. Happy summer, all!
