BALZER FAMILY CLOCK WORKS OF FREEPORT MAKING HISTORY
It took vision, planning, and two years to manufacture but it was worth the wait. Balzer Family Clock Works based in Freeport, Maine was commissioned by Priority Group, LLC of Topsham, owners of the Border Trust Business Center, to make the unique timepiece. The magnificent eighteen foot cast iron and bronze post clock was installed at 2 Main Street on a rainy Friday, June 6.

Adrienne Watkinson of Topsham Crowned Miss Maine 2008
BRUNSWICK - On Saturday, June 21, 2008, ten women competed for the title of Miss Maine 2008 at the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School. Miss Topsham, Adrienne Watkinson, was announced the winner and received over $10,000 is scholarships. Adrienne, daughter of Chris and Margaret Watkinson, also won the Talent Award for her violin performance. Miss Photogenic and first runner-up was Ashley Herron of Wells. Second Runner-up was Shannon Dobbins of Levant with Brittany McLaughlin of Fort Fairfield and Brittany Dunbar of Corea rounding out the top five.

Wally Hovey General Contractor Captures First Ararat Cup
BOWDOINHAM - The Topsham Community Services majors baseball team number one, sponsored by Walley Hovey General Contractor, won the league championship on Sunday June 8. The league championship tournament, called "The Ararat Cup", was introduced this year. The tournament included teams from Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Wiscasset, Harpswell and Topsham. The inaugural season for the "Ararat Cup" was hosted by the town of Bowdoinham. Scott Erickson, head coach for the champion Topsham team said, "this was an outstanding tournament, very professional, well run and organized. The kids had a great time".
